Roy Patrick Comiskey is a multi-disciplined artist, who studied at The Art Students League of New York. He enjoyed a lengthy career as an award-winning art director. Throughout his many years engaged in editorial design he was fascinated by the delicate interplay of image, type, and color. That sensibility drew him to the art of collage.

Comiskey creates intimate, handmade mixed-media collages. His minimalistic compositions are often populated by solitary figures immersed in layers of discarded, time-worn ephemera. Explaining his work, the artist states, "I take refuge from a world that is increasingly technology driven and impersonal by using traditional methods to restore a sense of balance to the chaos of daily life."

His work has been exhibited at Artery 717, The Adam Lister Gallery, The Soundry, The Nature Lab, Takoma Central, Artomatic, and The Del Ray Artisans Gallery.

He lives and works in Takoma Park, Maryland.
